The Climate Change Debate

The debate rages. Balanced views can be usually be found on Prometheus: The Science Policy Weblog. This post discusses whether the IPCC’s (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report is a scientific or an advocacy document, this one the relationship between hurricanes and global warming.

There is an interesting op-piece in Washingtion Post by Cass Sunstein, Limiting Climate Change: The Neglected Obstacle. The biggest emitters of greenhouse gasses are the U.S. and China. Those who will suffer most are most likely India and Africa. What are the incentives for the U.S. and China to limit their greenhouse gas emissions?

Here is a presentation by Michael Crichton, Fear, Complexity, & Environmental Management in the 21st Century. Nice slides.
