The American Institute of Philanthropy states that

1) A charity should spend at least 60% of its budget on program services.
2) Charities should spend no more than $35 to raise $100.

Of conservation organizations working internationally 

Conservation International gets an “A” grade (the best being “A+”). Information about Conservation International in Forbes Magazine’s list of the 200 largest charities, read here.

The Nature Conservancy get an “A-“. See also Forbes.
